Resiliance

I was trying to think of a way i could represent a way i feel about my fibromyalgia. I had this image of a face trying to lift her chin above a black swirl, trying not to be engulfed by it, trying to keep her spirits up.

This is what resulted.

Perhaps the patterns in the circles are a bit too pretty - but they do at least have lots of barbs in them ... lots of sharp bits that could stick into her.

Done in ink on paper, but I had to do a bit of fixing up in Photo shop as the blacks don't scan all that well (little reflections of white come out as white spots).

You can still see the influence of Jaewalker here. I can't seem to get away from the circles at the moment.
