Where’s Teddy?

My teddy keeps me safe at night
Fighting monsters from under the bed
Keeping away the nightmares
That steal into my sleeping head

Teddy is not as brown as he was
His nose fell off, he lost an eye
Mum sewed them back on for me
To make sure I wouldn’t cry

Sometimes Teddy falls down
Between the bed and the wall
Once I left him at preschool
When I was very small

Now I can’t find my Teddy
I’ve been looking for him since noon
I’m sure I’d find my Teddy
If  I just cleaned up my room.
